You can use the following regex:
=\{[\d.]+}\{([a-zA-Z]+)\}
See the regex demo
NOTE: this only requires that the matches occur in a “string” context, meaning that surrounding spaces will be kept, if any. If you want to remove trailing spaces, replace the above with a line like:
=\{[\d.]+\}(\{([a-zA-Z]+)\})
The (\{([a-zA-Z]+)\}) part makes sure that only a single letter is captured.

The present invention relates to a method and system for generating 2D and 3D computer model from drawings having a set of logical 2D cross-sections in a first direction and a set of first polygons and a set of polygons in a second direction. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method and system which generate a computer model from a set of drawn cross-sections. The present invention is particularly useful in generating a two dimensional (2D) and three dimensional (3D) computer model of an object from wireframe drawings, computer-aided design (CAD) drawings, and/or computer-aided drafting (CAD) drawings.
In the prior art, it has been difficult to convert a set of logical 2D cross-sections (e.g., in a set of CAD drawings) to the corresponding 3D model (e.g., in a 3D CAD model). The main problem is that the standard CAD models are inherently two-dimensional, requiring a transformation or remapping of the 2D logical cross-sections into the 3D environment. Examples of 2D cross-sections are the following:
(i) simple 2D drawings of an object;
(ii) cross-sections through a three dimensional model; and
(iii) 2D drawings of an object which represent only a cross-section through the 3D model.
In the prior art, the conversion of these cross-sections to 3D has been accomplished by the following three methods:
(1) Definition of a mathematical transformation by defining the relationship between the 2D and 3D cross-sections. It is very difficult to define the mathematical transformation between 2D and 3D cross-sections. This usually requires the mathematical definition of the object to be modeled.
(2) Creation of a three dimensional model from a
