The other answers are fine, but one is from 2011 and the other one looks suspicious, because it’s not a legitimate Autodesk product.
I suggest opening up regedit and looking for it there. It’ll probably be in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\\Licensing under the key for RegisteredUser. There should be a value there with a text string such as {serial number}-[generation-code] (something like: {serial number}-G#-170887-0F1A72F8-F03B8F91). If it exists, then you can use that. If not, you can generate one yourself: it’s just a combination of four hex digits and five decimal digits. The decimal portion of a date could be used, but as you can change that anyway (through the registry), I would just use the current time in seconds, added to some number to make it unique.


I’m assuming you have an old version of Autocad like 2017 or earlier.
You can get the serial number from your Autocad menu > About Autocad > Serial Number.
Serial number is a number stored in registry and next to it is a 6 character code that’s also stored in registry (under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\\Licensing). For a recent version of Autocad, the serial number is found under HKEY_C
